A Girl and a Spring

A girl frolicked down the street, but not just an ordinary girl. There was something different about her that made her the person she was, the person she is today. Her past life was far behind her. No one would’ve guessed today she would be turning 2,000 years old.
Yes indeed, this girl would 2,000 years old on this very day. How she has come to be is a very long story so let’s start at the very beginning. This girl had always been special in her own right, but now, on this day, she would be turned into someone else, something else. Something that had the ability to live to 2,000 years old. In the small town that this girl lived in, legend had it there was a spring that would grant internal youth. However, if you were merely searching for the spring out of selfishness, searching for your own benefit, the spring would not appear. On the other hand, if you just happen to stumble on this spring with no idea of self-benefit in mind, the spring would appear and you would be granted eternal life. Of course, this was just a legend, and nobody had ever stumbled upon the spring until the girl found it.
This girl was wandering around, carefree and in her own universe, when in front of her was a cave. Being a curious girl, she ambled into the cave and looked around in amazement. A single ray of light was shining on something, blue and shimmering. What looked like a lake was in front of the girl. Trees surrounding the spring and animals chirping. It seemed as if the scene had come straight out of a fairy tale. The girl approached the water and cupped her hands together to take a sip, and this is when her life changed forever. This is when the girl became something else. She was now immortal.
